The Basketball Network is continually evolving to automate administration processes, across membership and competition management.
We have received considerable feedback on forfeits, so wished to outline how they currently work in The Basketball Network and on Courtside.
Entering a Forfeit
Requirement: Association by-laws are automatically recorded against the game result when the match is uploaded from Courtside i.e many associations require the game to be recorded as 20-0 whereas Courtside records this as 0-0.
Development Status: Not currently prioritised for development (requires other forfeit work to be completed first).
Current Solution: The result has to manually adjusted in the database with the score changed by the association administrator from 0-0 to 20-0.
Reporting on Forfeits
Requirement: Able to quickly access forfeits from Competitions > Match Results > Match Status
Development Status: Under review
Current Solution: Reports > Competitions > Advanced Fixture > Team 1 Won/Lost OR Team 2 Won/Lost = Walkover To OR Walkover From
Confirming a Team Sheet with '0' Players on Courtside and the Database
Requirement: Ability to forfeit a game without selecting a single player on the team 'giving the forfeit' via the pre-game screen.
Development Status: Under review by The Basketball Network to allow a forfeit to be recorded with the three-player minimum being reached on Courtside.
Current Solution: The result is inputted into Courtside and manually adjusted in the database by adjusting the pre-game player list by the association administrator to only one player.
Requirement: This is a result option for when both teams forfeit, this cannot currently be recorded on Courtside or the database as a default result option.
Development Status: Under review by The Basketball Network to build this into the system as a default score option.
Current Solution: The result has to be inputted manually or manually adjusted in the database with a ladder adjustment made by the association administrator.
